The Challenge:
The client sought to create a series of premium workplace amenities that could serve multiple audiences and use cases without feeling over-engineered or underutilized. At the center of this vision was a next-generation boardroom capable of supporting highly specialized quarterly board meetings while remaining practical for executive meetings throughout the year.
Beyond the boardroom, the space needed to accommodate executive events, fireside chats, breakout sessions, dining experiences, and private conversations, all within the constraints of a retrofit floorplate. Every environment needed to support both self-service operation and high-production event modes, ensuring the spaces remained valuable long after a major event concluded.
On a separate floor, the client envisioned a flexible event and conference center capable of supporting both internal teams and external guests. The challenge was creating a space that could host sophisticated events and broadcasts while preserving the building’s historic character, natural light, and architectural features.
The Approach:
TAD approached the project with a focus on flexibility, meeting equity, and long-term usability. Rather than designing technology around a single use case, we developed environments capable of supporting a wide spectrum of experiences, from routine meetings to fully produced executive events.
The strategy centered on creating intuitive spaces where advanced capabilities remained accessible without requiring dedicated technical staff. Architectural integration was equally important, ensuring that technology enhanced the experience of each space without competing with the design itself.
Across both floors, every decision was guided by a simple principle: the most sophisticated environments should also be the easiest to use.
The Solution:
Executive & Board Governance Floor
The centerpiece of the floor is a circular boardroom designed specifically to support hybrid governance. Originally conceived as a traditional rectangular room, the space was reimagined as a circular environment to create a more equitable experience for participants both inside and outside the room.
Two mirrored curved Sharp Flex direct-view LED walls provide immersive content presentation, while a central display island ensures every seat has optimal visibility regardless of viewing angle. The island also houses strategically positioned Panasonic cameras, creating more natural sightlines for remote participants.
To further enhance the hybrid experience, TAD implemented an advanced speaker-tracking solution leveraging broadcast-grade technology. By integrating automated Telemetrics/EVS camera tracking, Audix shotgun ceiling microphones, and a production switcher, the system can intelligently follow conversations while still allowing operator oversight and adjustments when needed. This hybrid approach combines the responsiveness of automation with the quality control typically required by live production environments.
Adjacent event spaces extend the functionality of the floor. A flexible fireside chat area transforms from a digital signage destination into a broadcast backdrop for executive discussions and panel events, supported by either centralized control or local production workflows.
Event & Client Experience Floor
The event and conference center floor was designed to support client engagement, internal collaboration, and broadcast production while maintaining the architectural character of the space.
The open ceiling plan and historic building features required careful coordination of speakers, displays, and supporting infrastructure. Display systems were designed to disappear when not in use, allowing large windows, natural light, and architectural details to remain the focal point of the environment.
Behind the scenes, flexible production infrastructure supports webinars, presentations, and broadcast events while aligning with the client’s internal resiliency and redundancy standards. The result is a highly capable event environment that feels open, welcoming, and free from visible technical complexity.
The Impact:
The completed Tech Hub has become a highly utilized destination for board meetings, executive events, client engagement, and everyday collaboration. Spaces originally designed for specialized use continue to see consistent day-to-day occupancy, validating the project’s emphasis on flexibility and usability.
The boardroom, in particular, has become a benchmark for hybrid governance, with stakeholders noting:
“This is the first boardroom that claims to be hybrid and is.”
By combining broadcast-quality experiences, intuitive operation, and seamless architectural integration, TAD helped create a workplace ecosystem that supports both the strategic and operational needs of the organization while remaining adaptable for the future.
