In the first opportunity to return to a major conference since 2020, Elliot Levinson, Director of TAD.monitor, attended ISE 2022 in Barcelona.
What we Saw:
ISE 2022 was a very well-attended show, with over 45,000 attendees. While we were all excited to attend and explore the world’s leading technology innovators, there was a lingering air of the pandemic. We saw several useful product enhancements centered around better support for the hybrid workplace. The meeting room experience continues to improve, as videoconferencing becomes more simplistic and flexible. However, the fact that the hybrid workplace continues to hold focus demonstrates that the realm of technology is still in a stage of post-pandemic catch up.
One recurring phrase, heard from multiple vendors throughout ISE this year, was of artificial intelligence being embedded into their products. A worthy advancement, automation promises both improving the user experience as well as efficiency in technology. Increasing accuracy in tasks as well as decreasing the time it takes to complete a task can allow more time for a team to complete tasks that add value.
Bridging the Gap:
It’s interesting to see how automated operations are flourishing in the IT space, covering infrastructure, servers, workstations, and more. As hybrid working is now the norm, the need to monitor what and how people are working is becoming increasingly vital to operations, but when we look to our own audio, video, presentation and collaboration arena, the story is quite different. Monitoring and automation are immature and there is imminent opportunity to innovate.
Monitoring and automated operations in the AV industry are lagging behind IT. We don’t see AV industry leaders pushing to bridge this gap. This is exactly what inspired us to begin TAD.monitor. TAD wants to push the envelope when it comes to the human experience. When we noticed our AV clients struggling to implement and run monitoring solutions, we decided to do something about it.
As the complexity of technologies being integrated into buildings increases, so does the need for monitoring. We are attempting to move the conversation from one that is exclusively technology focused, to one that incorporates technology, buildings, and human beings.
Pushing Forward:
The functionality of TAD.monitor continues to grow. It now incorporates AI so the system can detect when technology fails and will self-heal without user interaction. We, not unlike many of the technology players seen at ISE, are currently focused on improving the human experience in a post-pandemic world. The real value in TAD.monitor is fusing automation into existing technologies helping clients to track KPIs and reach their unique goals. As we push on, and the pandemic fades, we remain excited for the future and the broader scope of TAD.monitor and will continue to develop and pioneer.
