Davis Polk & Wardwell, Washington Offices

Extending global technology standards to a high-touch conference environment

Davis Polk engaged TAD to implement global technology standards in its Washington office, ensuring a consistent and reliable user experience across its international portfolio. The project focused on delivering a high-touch, flexible conference center capable of supporting training sessions, client events, partner meetings, and internal legal discussions. Despite a compressed timeline and ongoing global shipping challenges, TAD delivered a standardized and future-ready AV environment aligned with the firm’s broader enterprise strategy.

The Challenge:

Davis Polk’s primary objective was to maintain consistency across global offices by deploying the technology standards previously developed in New York. The Washington office needed to align with these standards while accommodating the unique demands of a client-facing conference center.

The space was expected to support a wide range of uses, from formal client events to internal training and partner meetings. At the same time, the project was constrained by a tight schedule and global supply chain delays, requiring careful coordination and efficient decision-making.

The Approach:

TAD framed the project around maintaining the integrity of the global standards while adapting them to the specific needs of the Washington office. Through conversations with stakeholders, we clarified the functional priorities of the conference center and ensured the technology strategy supported flexibility and ease of use.

The goal was to create a seamless experience consistent with other offices, while delivering the performance required for high-profile meetings and events.

The Solution:

The solution centered on a consolidated enterprise network infrastructure leveraging IPMX and Q-SYS camera tracking to provide consistent performance across meeting spaces. Custom microphones and loudspeakers were integrated to meet the acoustic and presentation needs of the conference center.

Working in close collaboration with Tritech Communications, the system was deployed efficiently despite ongoing shipping constraints. The design reinforces the firm’s global AV standards while supporting local flexibility.

The Impact:

The Washington office now benefits from standardized, updated technology aligned with Davis Polk’s global framework. The conference center supports a range of professional uses with a consistent and intuitive experience. The infrastructure is also prepared for future building automation and monitoring initiatives, positioning the office for continued evolution within the firm’s broader enterprise ecosystem.
